A few days ago, the leaked information shared by Evan Blass, we come to know that the Taiwanese company HTC is working on its upcoming smartphone named as HTC U codename “HTC Ocean”.
The main highlight of the device is the New Edge Sense or Sense Touch feature which is expected to placed at the bottom of the device and let the users communicate with edges of the smartphone frames to accomplish various functions and tasks.
This leaked feature by Evan Blass is also confirmed by Android Headlines in their blog post accompanied with full specification of the HTC U Ocean. The device will sport 5.5-inch WQHD featuring a screen resolution of 2560 X 1440 pixels protected by Gorilla Glass 5 to ensure the overall protection of the device from scratches and sudden falls.
HTC U Ocean will be powered by latest Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset. There will be two different models available in the regard to the memory. The first model will be powered by 4GB of RAM with 64GB internal storage accompanied with 6GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage. The device will be running HTC Sense 9 UI enabled Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box
HTC U Ocean will be backed by 3000mAh and support Quick Charge 3.0 feature that helps quick charging in no time. Regarding connectivity, the device will have Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac accompanied with 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Also, the fingerprint reader is also embedded in the Home key.
Talking about the camera, the will come with Ultrapixel front-facing camera, but there is no mention of the camera sensors. Even there is no mention of the type of rear-facing camera. But according to previously leaked information by Evan Blass, the device will be featuring 12 MP rear camera and 16MP front facing camera featuring Sony IMX362 and IMX351 sensors.
Also, the device will have improved with advanced HDR settings like Smart Video Zoom, HDR+, 3D Audio, Hi-Resolution recording functions, so that you can capture high-quality photos.
It is expected that device supports Multimedia BoomSound, the feature which company offers on its all the flagship or high-end smartphones. There will be another new feature named as HTC USonic that a helps you to create a personalized audio profile on the basis of user ear canal automatically.
There is no information shared about when the device will be unveiled by the company, but according to the previous rumor via Evan Blass, it is expected that device will be available in the middle or maybe the end of the April and users will able to purchase the smartphone by the first week of the May.
